Coming in the Summer of 2023, a unique grief camp for grownups in the suburbs near Seattle.

Who Are We

Grief Camp?!

Greetings, friend.

I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming Grief Out Loud, an adults-only grief-focused summer camp weekend (okay, one teen is coming, but that's all).

YES, grief camp.

Inspired by some of the great camp experiences in my own life, and tales from others, we know that Camp can be a delightful healing time. Make new friends, go on field trips, and craft! We will definitely eat s'mores and stargaze.

Here are the details for Grief Out Loud:

Date: July 14-16, 2023

Location: my private residence and garden in Lynnwood, WA

Time: from 9am-6pm Friday and Saturday with evening activities both days, and half-day Sunday from 9am-1PM.

Cost to attend: suggested donation (dana) $350; if you can afford more or less than that, please let me know. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. If this event calls to you, it’s for you.

Light meals and materials will be provided. Delicious, likely vegetarian and GF. Let me know if you have food allergies. This will be a mostly- or entirely-sober event, that much I haven’t thought through yet.

Grief Out Loud is an immersive camp-like experience designed specifically for adults navigating the complexities of grief. Over the course of this transformative weekend, we will gather as a community of individuals who understand firsthand the challenges of loss and the journey towards healing.

During our time together at Grief Out Loud, you can expect a carefully curated program filled with diverse activities and meaningful connections. Through sharing circles, we will create a safe space where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and memories, knowing that you will be heard and understood by those who have walked a similar path.

Engaging workshops and insightful discussions will be facilitated by me, Amani Loutfy, a death doula, hospice volunteer, caregiver, and experienced griever. There will be practical tools and guidance to navigate the ups and downs of grief, and creative expressions such as yoga, art therapy. and music will provide opportunities for personal exploration.

Nature will be our backdrop, allowing us to connect with the healing power of the outdoors. We will have moments of reflection, walks in the garden, and opportunities for gentle movement like yoga and meditation. Laughter and tears will be welcome, and, likely abundant as we navigate our feelings in the present and honor the memories of our loved ones.

Please know that you are not alone in your grief. The connections and bonds formed during Grief Out Loud will offer invaluable support and understanding, developing a sense of community and shared strength.

If you would like to attend or have any questions about Grief Out Loud, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I am here to provide you with further information and address any concerns you may have.

I sincerely hope you can join us! Together we will embark on a healing journey, find solace in the company of others, and discover new paths towards growth and resilience. Whether there are five or 20 of us together, it will be the right people, the right time, and the right size group.

See you soon! Registration closes June 30, but the sooner you let me know you’re in, the better. yay!
with a deep bow,

Amani
